With 2018 coming to a close, many people are starting to think about New Year’s resolutions and how they can become a better version of themselves. NewCov CrossFit is giving people a head start on doing that with its new Beginner Program launching December 3.
The new Beginner Program aims to eliminate the stigma that CrossFit requires you to be an elite athlete on your first day. Nobody will be expected to lift a 200 lb. barbell over their head as soon as they walk in the door.
“We teach them the importance of proper technique and how it equates to safe and beneficial workouts,” NewCov CrossFit Owner, Emily Wagner, says.
There will be two options available in the new Beginner Program. The first gives 20 people three weeks of unlimited Beginner classes followed by three weeks of Regular CrossFit classes, for $150. Participants will complete a baseline WOD (Workout of the Day) on the first day and last day of the program. At the end of the three weeks of Beginner classes, all of the coaches at NewCov CrossFit will vote on the most improved overall, using improvement in form, cardiovascular ability and mentality. The winner will receive a free six month membership! All others will receive a 6 month discounted contract if they choose to stick with the program.
NewCov CrossFit coach, Rachel Hicks, spent three months in Beginner classes when she joined in December of 2012.
“I wanted to make sure I had every movement down before entering the regular classes. Having lots of one-on-one time really helped me feel comfortable with the movements,” Hicks says.
A new 6 week program starts every three weeks. You can view the start dates on our website. If you don’t want to wait until the next start date, that’s okay! You can purchase our 8 week program for $230. This includes 4 private beginner sessions with a trainer followed by unlimited access to all Regular CrossFit classes. No matter which option you choose, you also receive unlimited access to Em’s Fitcamp classes.
“You learn quickly that the people you’d think you’d be intimidated by, because of their skill level or the amount weight they are throwing around are the exact people that willingly go out of their way to help you in any way they can, and will probably celebrate your PR’s (personal records) harder than you, “ NewCov CrossFit member, Erica Miknius says.
